Hosting Ministry
Our Hosting Ministry volunteers are oftentimes the first encounter someone has with our church. We serve in various positions on Sunday mornings and in the church office during the week.
Description: Our greeters stand by the entrance, welcome attenders on Sunday mornings. A great way to meet people.
Commitment: Sundays 7:30-8:45am OR
10:00-10:45am, on a rotating schedule (currently once every five weeks or so).
Skills needed: Friendly and welcoming demeanor. Cheat sheet of frequently asked questions provided.
Description: Welcome and seat congregants as quickly and quietly as possible. Keep a general awareness of surroundings to see who needs assistance.
Commitment: Flexible, one service on a weekly or biweekly rotation.
Skills needed: Welcoming, observant.
Description: Helps create a safe environment for services and special events. Maintains a door locking schedule and identifies potential situations that may need attention.
Commitment: One service, 1-2 Sundays per month. 7:30-10:30am OR 10:00am-12:30pm.
Skills needed: Awareness of surroundings, comfortable with greeting folks, pleasant demeaner, teachable, able to diffuse tense situations.
Description: Help to transport attenders between overflow parking and main campus.
Commitment: One service, 1-2 Sundays per month. 7:30-10:30am OR 10:00am-12:30pm.
Skills needed: Clean driving record, friendly.
Description: Stock supplies in both foyers, make coffee, clean up. This is a great way to meet people, with an easy commitment while already here on a Sunday morning.
Commitment: Sundays 9:45-10:45am, once every seven weeks or so.
Skills needed: Reliable, personable. Procedures to operate machines will be taught.
Description: Prayer partners is a group of men who meet backstage and pray together both for and during the service.
Commitment: Averages 1 Sunday per month, during either first or second service.
Skills needed: An active spiritual life, representative of the members of Renew Bible Church.
Description: On call to help cover the reception desk as needed.
Commitment: Daytime availability, on call as needed.
Skills needed: Friendly personality, welcoming demeanor. Familiar with Renew Ministries and language.
Description: Stock supplies for coffee team, lay out elements for communion, and prepare for anything being given away on a Sunday morning.
Commitment: Friday daytime, one hour (as needed).
Skills needed: Ability to walk easily around the church building, willingness to serve.
Description: On call team to help shop for supplies for church events.
Commitment: Availability during the day, on call as needed.
Skills needed: None, just a willingness to serve.
